Well, we are back to heatwaves again. I think the weather can read my blogs and my complaints, but no matter what, nothing will stop the Aisha Insights blogs! I hope you have all been having a fun, relaxing, school-free break. Now let's get started!

The Joy Around Blog Writing and Importance of Keeping it Fresh

Writing a blog every week is not as easy as it might seem. One of my biggest challenges when it comes to writing is deciding which topics are worth talking about. I don't just want to choose informative subjects; I also want them to have a deeper learning element.

For me, a good blog topic should hopefully do more than simply provide information. I want it to make people think, reflect, learn something new, or perhaps even see an everyday topic from a slightly different perspective. Finding that balance between something interesting, informative, and meaningful is probably one of the hardest parts of writing every week.

Every sentence, word, and even letter I write has meaning behind it. I put a lot of thought into the words I choose because, for me, writing is not simply about filling a page; it is about expressing an idea, sharing an experience, or hopefully leaving the reader with something to think about.

And I cannot even begin to explain how annoyed I get when I read my blog back and discover a spelling mistake! It might seem like something small, but when you put so much care into your writing, even the tiniest error can stand out like a giant sign.

Ultimately, there is a huge amount of meaning behind the words I write. Every blog is a little piece of my thoughts, experiences, and personality, which is why getting the words right matters so much to me.

So, what do I actually plan to do with these blogs in the future?

The honest answer is that I want to push the Aisha’s Insights project much further. What started as a personal website and a place to share my thoughts, experiences, and little weekly rambles has grown into something I genuinely want to develop and build upon.

My goal is not simply to gain more readers. I want to create a network of individuals where people can connect, share their experiences, learn from one another, and feel comfortable being themselves. Ultimately, I want Aisha’s Insights to become a community built on trust, confidence, encouragement, and the idea that everyone has something valuable to contribute.

There is still a long way to go, but I am excited to see where this little project can take me. Who knows? But all I know is that these weekly blogs are only the beginning.

Around The World: The Sweet Taste Of Turkey

Turkey was the second holiday destination I experienced, and my family and I travelled to Istanbul. My goodness, this trip was completely different from my experiences in India and was certainly one filled with adventure!

Istanbul offered such a unique combination of history, culture, incredible architecture, and modern city life. From exploring the busy streets to experiencing the local food and discovering famous landmarks, there was always something new to see and experience.

The main highlight of my trip to Turkey was definitely quad biking. Honestly, I never would have imagined in a million years that this would be an activity I would enjoy, but it completely surprised me!

There was something about the rush of speeding across the landscape, feeling the wind around me, and having the freedom to explore that made the experience so exciting. It was one of those moments where I could completely switch off, enjoy the adventure, and simply have fun.

Quad biking definitely taught me that sometimes the activities we least expect to enjoy can end up becoming some of our favourite memories.

And of course, I cannot talk about Turkey without mentioning some of the most adorable cats I have ever seen.

No, seriously, how often do you come across tiny kittens that simply follow you around because they want some attention? Everywhere I looked, there seemed to be another adorable cat wandering around, completely unbothered by the world and somehow making themselves the centre of attention.

Finally, Turkey introduced me to another important part of my travelling experience: trying new food!

Two of the treats that really stood out to me were Turkish delight and baklava. And my goodness, they are sweet! But despite the sugar overload, they were absolutely delicious.

So, what is my verdict on visiting Turkey? Definitely a big yes!

However, I would say that the best destination really depends on the type of holiday you are looking for. If you enjoy the excitement and bustle of busy streets, exploring landmarks, and being surrounded by lots of activity, then Istanbul is definitely the place for you.

On the other hand, if you are looking for something more relaxed, peaceful, and calming, Agadir offers a completely different experience. It is the kind of destination where you can slow down, enjoy the surroundings, and take a break from the busyness of everyday life.

Either way, both destinations offer something special, and I would definitely recommend giving them a visit. Just be prepared for plenty of adventure, deliciously sweet treats, and, of course, lots of cats!

The Food Diaries: Why is Food Important?

Isn't it curious that, despite the fact that we are all human beings, we can have such completely different relationships with food?

We all have different foods we enjoy, different preferences, different appetites, and even different amounts of food we eat throughout the day. Yet, what fascinates me most is just how many different types of food exist around the world.

From fruits and vegetables to traditional dishes, desserts, spices, and foods I have never even heard of, there is an incredible variety to explore. Food can be influenced by culture, geography, family traditions, personal preferences, and even the experiences we have throughout our lives.

It really makes you think about how something as simple as eating can be such a unique and personal experience for every individual.

But why is food so important? Well, according to the internet, an average healthy person can survive somewhere between 21 and 60 days without food, although this can vary significantly depending on the individual and their circumstances.

Now, that is a pretty huge amount of time when you think about it, but it also highlights just how important food is to human survival. Our bodies rely on food to provide the energy and nutrients we need to function, grow, repair ourselves, and carry out our everyday activities.

But food is not simply about survival. It is also connected to our culture, traditions, emotions, social lives, and even our memories. Something as simple as sitting down for a meal can bring people together, while trying a new food can introduce us to an entirely different culture.

For instance, within some cultures and households, protein can be considered the main component of a meal, with foods such as meat, fish, or other protein sources taking centre stage. In other cultures, meals may place much more emphasis on vegetables, grains, rice, or other staple foods.

Food can define our personality in many ways. The foods we enjoy, the flavours we are drawn to, and even the meals we choose to eat can reflect aspects of who we are and the experiences that have shaped us.

Weekly Funny Moment Of The Week: The Shopping Trolley Problem

So, this week I was doing my weekly shop, and as always, my first job was recruiting a trusty trolley. However, today I was completely out of luck because the front of the shop didn't have a single one! I had to walk all the way to the back just to grab one.

But as I started picking up my items, I quickly discovered that I had encountered a very different kind of trolley problem.

For those who don't know, the Trolley Problem is a famous thought experiment in which you are faced with a difficult decision involving a runaway trolley and have to choose between different outcomes. Well, my trolley problem was more of a physical problem in the moment, which was much more frustrating.

My trolley kept blocking me from reaching items, the wheels barely wanted to move properly, and every time I tried to steer it in one direction, it seemed determined to go somewhere completely different.

At this point, I wasn't deciding who should live or die; I was deciding whether I should abandon the trolley altogether!

So, perhaps supermarkets could focus on solving their own trolley problem first. I just want a trolley with four functioning wheels that actually listens to me and one which I don't need to save a pound to do my shop!

Aisha's Tiny but Mighty Weekly Advice Section: Listening and Learning

One of the skills that I believe society often struggles with is listening and simply lending an ear to others. Don't get me wrong, being able to communicate and express ourselves is incredibly important, but I think listening is often undervalued.

We can become so focused on getting our own opinions across, waiting for our turn to speak, or trying to find the perfect response that we sometimes forget to simply listen to what another person is saying.

I want to start this advice column by saying something simple: not every problem can be solved with words.

Sometimes, talking too much or saying the wrong thing at the wrong moment can actually make a situation worse. We can become so focused on finding the perfect response or giving advice that we forget what the other person might actually need.

Sometimes, they don't need a solution. They simply need someone to listen.

And this is where I believe the power of listening comes in. Being able to genuinely listen, lend an ear, and give someone the space to express themselves can be a powerful skill. You don't always need to have the right answer; sometimes, simply being there and making someone feel heard can mean more than any words you could say.

Listening is about being fully present with someone and giving them your genuine attention. It is about making another person feel valued and respected, while giving them the space to express and release their emotions without fear of being judged.

Most importantly, listening is about making someone feel heard and acknowledged. Sometimes, people don't need you to fix their problems or tell them what they should do. They simply need to know that someone cares enough to stop, listen, and understand what they are going through.

That simple act can be far more powerful than we sometimes realise.

Building the skill of listening is not always easy. Naturally, when someone comes to us with a problem, our first instinct can be to try and fix it. We want to offer advice, find a solution, or make the situation better for them.

Learning to recognise when to speak and when to simply listen takes patience and practice. It means putting our instinct to solve things aside for a moment and giving the other person the space they need.

So, in conclusion, try your best to evaluate the situation before deciding what action is best to take. Sometimes, the right response is to offer advice or help solve the problem, while other times, the most valuable thing you can do is simply listen.

Learning to recognise the difference takes patience and understanding, but it can make a huge difference in how we support the people around us.

End Of Blog Sign-Off

Okay, this week's blog is a little late, and I am sorry! But I wanted to make sure I took the time to make it as good as possible rather than rushing it out.

And can we please talk about this heat? I really hope it cools down soon because I think we have all had enough of the sunshine at this point! Hopefully, we can also avoid any more emergency alerts along the way.

Finally, a huge good luck to all the GCSE students receiving their results next week! Whatever your results, remember how much hard work, effort, and dedication you have already put into getting to this point. Be proud of yourselves and remember that one set of results does not define your future.

I hope you all have a wonderful, restful, and hopefully slightly cooler weekend!

Until Next Week

Aisha.
